No boilerplate, no dark patterns. Here is exactly what this site collects, where it goes, and how to make it go away.
The short version
Browsing this site anonymously collects almost nothing. If you submit the website teardown form, you hand over real contact details, and some of that is shared with Meta for advertising measurement. That part is worth reading.
What I collect, and when
If you just look around
Cloudflare, which serves this site, records standard technical information — IP address,
browser, pages viewed — to block attacks and give me visitor counts. I see only totals.
Cloudflare may set a __cf_bm cookie to tell people from bots.
A Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel also runs on these pages. It sets cookies including
_fbp and reports your visit to Meta so I can measure whether my ads work.
Google Fonts serves the typefaces. Your browser fetches them from Google, so Google receives your IP address.
If you request a website teardown
The form asks for your name, email address, website URL and optionally your phone number. Along with those, the request records your IP address and browser user-agent, plus any Meta advertising cookies already in your browser.
Where that information goes
- A database I control, hosted on Cloudflare, so I can keep track of who asked for what.
- Resend, an email service, which sends the enquiry to my inbox. Replying goes straight back to you.
- Meta, via their Conversions API, as a “Lead” event for ad measurement. Your email, phone and first name are hashed before they are sent — scrambled so Meta can match them to an existing account without receiving them in the clear. Your IP address and browser user-agent are sent as-is, and so are your Meta advertising cookies.
That last one is what privacy law calls sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. I would rather say so directly than bury it.
What I never do
I do not sell your information. I do not add you to a mailing list — there isn’t one. I do not share enquiries with anyone beyond the three services named above.
How long I keep it
Enquiries stay until they are no longer useful for the conversation you started. There is no automatic deletion schedule. Ask and I will delete yours.
Your choices
- Skip the tracking — block cookies, use a tracker-blocking extension, or opt out in your Meta ad settings. The site works fine either way.
- See or delete what I hold — email me and I’ll handle it. No form, no hoops.
- Don’t submit the form — call or email instead, and none of the tracking above applies.
Children
This is a site about hiring a web designer. It isn’t aimed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this changes, the date at the top changes with it.
