How working together works: what you pay, how monthly plans cancel, and who owns what. No trap doors, no fine-print scavenger hunt.
The short version
Projects are a fixed fee. Monthly plans are month to month, so you can cancel any time. You own your content and your site. And I will never promise you a ranking, because nobody honest can.
Projects (one-time work)
Every project starts with a written proposal that spells out what is included, what it costs, and roughly how long it takes. That proposal is the scope.
- Payment. Project fees are invoiced as agreed in the proposal and are usually due on receipt.
- Changes. If you want something outside the proposal, I will tell you before I start and quote it. No surprise bills.
- Refunds. If you cancel before I have started, you get a full refund. Once work has begun, the fee covers the work already done. If you are unhappy with the result, tell me first and I will make it right.
Monthly hosting and care plans
What a plan includes is listed in your proposal. The terms are the same for every plan:
- Month to month. No contract, no cancellation fee, no minimum term. If a plan stops being worth it, you leave. That keeps me honest.
- Billing. Plans are billed monthly by credit or debit card through Stripe, starting on the date in your proposal. I never see or store your card number. Stripe does.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time from your customer portal or by emailing me. Your plan stays active through the end of the month you have paid for. I do not refund partial months.
- Rate changes. If I ever raise the monthly rate, I will give you 30 days’ notice, and you can cancel instead.
- Failed payments. Stripe retries a declined card automatically and emails you about it. I will reach out personally before pausing anything. A plan that stays unpaid may be paused.
What you own
- Your content, your logo, your brand and your domain names are yours.
- If you leave, I will hand over a full copy of your site, files and database, and answer questions so the move is painless.
- Code, templates and tools that I build and that are not specific to you remain mine. Third-party themes and plugins stay under their own licenses.
Honest limits
- No guaranteed rankings. Search engines decide where you rank, not me. I will do the work well and report honestly on what is happening, but I cannot promise rankings, traffic or leads.
- No perfect uptime. I keep sites backed up, updated and monitored, and I take outages seriously, but no host is flawless and I cannot promise zero downtime.
- Liability. To the extent the law allows, my responsibility for any problem is limited to the fees you paid for the service in question.
What I need from you
Accurate information, content and feedback in a reasonable time, and access to any accounts I need to do the work. If things stall on your side, dates move.
If we disagree
Talk to me first. Almost everything can be sorted with one honest conversation. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it.
