// Alpharetta · North FultonAlpharetta businesses already have websites. Most of them are slow.
Along GA 400 and around Avalon, nearly every business has a site that looks fine. Looking fine is table stakes here. What separates the ones that rank is underneath the design.
Your competition is real here
Alpharetta is a tech corridor. The professional services firms you are competing with have marketing budgets and agencies, and their sites look the part. That means design alone will not move you — the differences that decide rankings are the ones nobody sees: how fast the page becomes usable, whether the structured data is right, whether the server answers in under a second.
That is the part I am unusually good at, because I spent 27 years in enterprise IT before I built a client website.
What actually separates them
When I audit a polished-looking site around here, the same things are wrong:
- A hero image several megabytes larger than it needs to be, pushing the page's largest paint past four seconds on a phone.
- Third-party marketing scripts loading before the content, so the page is visible but not usable.
- No structured data, so Google cannot tell what kind of business it is.
- Missing security headers — invisible to a visitor, checked by every audit tool.
None of that shows in a screenshot. All of it shows in the rankings.
The measurable version
On a recent rebuild, Largest Contentful Paint went from 23.3 seconds to 3.1 — the fix was one image nobody had looked at. On another, 1.4 MB of render-blocking images was cut by 80 percent. Both went from failing every HTTP security header to passing all of them.
That work is what makes a site eligible to compete. The design is what makes someone stay once it is.
Common questions
Do you work with Alpharetta businesses in person?
Yes. I'm in Cumming, about twenty minutes up GA 400, so meeting in person is straightforward when it's useful.
My site was built recently and still doesn't rank. Why?
Usually because it was built to look good rather than to be found. A recent build can still be missing structured data, carrying multi-megabyte images, and loading marketing scripts ahead of its own content. Those are invisible in a design review and decisive in search.
Do I have to rebuild the whole site?
Often not. Performance and technical SEO problems are frequently fixable on the site you already have, and I'll tell you which situation you're in before you spend anything.
