Hand-coded websites and local SEO for small businesses in Cumming and across Forsyth County. No page builders, no templates, no monthly platform rent.
Why a local studio
Most of the sites I see around Forsyth County were built on a template, handed over, and never touched again. They load slowly on a phone, they don’t say where the business is, and they don’t appear when someone searches for what the business actually does. That isn’t a design problem. It’s a plumbing problem, and it’s fixable.
I’m based in Cumming. I can drive to your shop, take the photographs, and see how customers actually find you — which matters more than it sounds when the goal is ranking for people searching a few miles away.
Twenty-seven years in IT before the first client site
I started in IT in 1998 and spent most of that career on the infrastructure side — service management, cloud, process. Most local web shops are run by designers who learned hosting second. I came the other way. It’s why the sites I build ship with security headers, structured data and a server that answers in under a second, instead of a page builder and a hopeful attitude.
What that looks like in practice
Two recent rebuilds, measured with Google’s own PageSpeed tooling:
- A retail shop whose hero image was a 4 MB screenshot. Largest Contentful Paint went from 23.3 seconds to 3.1. It now ranks in Google’s top five for its category searches.
- A market and deli carrying 1.4 MB of blocking images on every visit, cut by 80 percent, with the page weight moved off the critical path entirely.
Both sites went from failing every HTTP security header to passing all of them, and from no usable structured data to full business schema. That work is what makes a site eligible to rank; the design is what makes someone stay.
What I do
- Website design and rebuilds — hand-coded, fast, and yours. No subscription to a builder that holds your site hostage.
- Local SEO — Google Business Profile, local schema, service-area pages, and the citation work that makes you show up in the map results.
- Technical SEO audits — crawlability, indexing, structured data, security headers, and the reasons a site that looks fine isn’t ranking.
- Performance tuning — Core Web Vitals, image and script weight, caching. Usually the cheapest ranking improvement available.
Where I work
Cumming and Forsyth County first, then Alpharetta, Suwanee, Johns Creek, Milton, Dawsonville, Gainesville and the north Atlanta metro. If you’re further out, the work is the same — I just won’t be taking the photos myself.
